Jackson Kisor, BS, MS, LMFTA
Academic Coach

Jackson brings years of hands-on experience tutoring and coaching students across all ages and academic levels. His work spans elementary through graduate education, from foundational skills like multiplication and early writing to AP coursework, advanced quantitative classes such as multivariable calculus, and graduate thesis preparation. He has taught across a wide range of subjects, including English, mathematics, history, sciences, business, and Japanese (up to N3 fluency). In addition to one-on-one tutoring, Jackson has extensive experience working with groups and preparing students for standardized exams such as the ACT, SAT, and GRE. This breadth of on-the-ground experience directly informs the individualized plans he creates for each student.

Jackson offers bespoke tutoring, long-term academic planning, early career counseling, and student advocacy. He has worked extensively with students who are learning disabled, gifted and talented, or twice exceptional, and he brings experience in interview coaching, college application review, and navigating complex academic systems. He also maintains professional relationships with academic advisors at several major universities throughout the Midwest, enabling him to support students with informed guidance and strategic insight.

Jackson begins his work with an evaluation of each student’s strengths, challenges, motivation, and learning style. From there, he helps students build strong academic skills while also developing effective study habits, time-management strategies, and clear, attainable goals. He works well with students who struggle with focus, anxiety, burnout, or underperformance, as well as those who want to strengthen their confidence and establish sustainable habits for long-term success. As a licensed therapy associate, Jackson brings a nuanced understanding of the psychological factors that affect learning, allowing him to coach students through challenges that extend beyond coursework alone. He takes a holistic approach to education—starting with long-term goals and equipping students with the tools they need for a lifetime of learning.
