Alishia Elliott, MA, NCC, LMHCA

Alishia was born and raised in Central Indiana, where she is currently working toward a Doctorate of Psychology degree in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Indianapolis. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Purdue University, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University.
Alishia enjoys being involved in research, with her primary interests being adolescent substance use, parent-child relationships and family systems, and using alternate forms of treatment, such as equine-assisted therapy. She believes in using a holistic approach to therapy and providing individualized treatment to meet clients’ unique needs.
Alishia is passionate about serving at-risk populations and has experience in treating substance use and comorbid disorders with clients of various ages and stages of life. She is also committed to helping those who suffer from trauma, internalizing symptoms, and externalizing symptoms find peace through providing an empathic, strengths-based perspective, focusing on client resilience.
She enjoys working in a collaborative manner with individuals, groups, and families, utilizing a strong therapeutic relationship to achieve change. Although she draws techniques and interventions from various theoretical orientations, she primarily uses evidence-based interventions and an integrative approach, consisting of cognitive-behavioral and person-centered theories.
