Carolyn Dowdell

Carolyn Dowdell is from Montgomery, Alabama (hence the Southern accent you’ll hear over the phone!) She was a military spouse for 17 years, having lived in four states and a short stint in Cuba.

Carolyn moved to Indianapolis in 2021 to start working at Kenosis as our office manager. She helps people book appointments over the phone and is a friendly face when clients come for their counseling sessions. Carolyn loves meeting new people and calming the nerves of first-time clients.

Counseling has been an important part of her life. A close family member struggled with mental health issues throughout her childhood and teen years. Seeing that person struggle, and then choosing to attend therapy in order to start to make changes was touching for her. She recognizes the bravery it takes someone to walk through the door of Kenosis to seek the help they need.

She approaches everyone with kindness but makes each interaction unique. Carolyn takes the time to learn about their stories and shares hers with them too, so she can relate to them on a personal level. She’s like a second-hand counselor at our front desk!

Carolyn considers herself a homebody but has two small children (and one adult child) to keep her busy. She treasures her time with family, engaged in various activities such as hiking, going on a walk or to the park, as well as traveling together.

Carolyn is often the first face of Kenosis . . . know that you will be greeted warmly when you arrive!
