"I’m stronger because I had to be.
I’m smarter because of my mistakes.
I’m happier because of the sadness I’ve known.
Now I’m wiser because I’ve learned."

Jo Ann Ahles, MA, LMHCA, JD
Psychotherapist

Jo Ann received a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler Graduate School, and also holds a Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law. Her empathy and warmth help to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can process and heal. She utilizes various therapeutic approaches, including Attachment-based and Adlerian theories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness strategies.

Jo Ann has spent her life using her personal and career experiences to help clients overcome obstacles and provide them with support when life seems to be more than they can handle. As a family law attorney for almost 20 years, she knows how anxiety and stress can affect every facet of one’s life as well as the lives of their loved ones. While her focus is working with Attachment issues, she also works with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, postpartum depression, life transitions, and other mood concerns.

Jo Ann understands that there is no single approach that works for everyone, so she continues to educate herself on emerging therapies and psychological trends to provide comprehensive treatment that works for each of her client’s individual needs.
