Sara Pollard MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC
Therapist, EMDR Trained

Sara is a life-long central Indiana resident who earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with experience in pregnancy/postpartum mental health, infant/toddler mental health, and perinatal grief and loss.

Sara is EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained but also embraces other modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). Sara incorporates mind/body modalities into each session and believes an understanding of the neurobiology of stress/trauma and the impact of stress/trauma upon the brain and nervous system is a crucial part of healing, health, and wholeness. Sara is trained in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International and previously served as the chair of the board of directors for Postpartum Support International - Indiana chapter.

Sara provides psychotherapy for adults experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders including birth-related trauma and depression, and various life transitions. She provides psychotherapy from an attachment-based perspective. Sara also enjoys working with healthcare professionals and industry leaders to provide both coaching and psychotherapy to improve their professional quality of life and prevent/treat burnout and vicarious trauma. Sara is also committed to serving families, first responders, and other healthcare providers who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sara sees every client as a holistic being composed of mind, body, soul, and spirit and incorporates biblical-based principles/perspectives into therapy as requested.

Sara brings a sense of humor, practicality, compassion, and a sense of calm to every session. In her free time, Sara enjoys reading, hiking, listening to music and spending time with her friends and family. Sara is available for in person visits.
