Skyla Backus

Skyla Backus was born and raised in Greenwood, IN. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minoring in Criminal Justice, with the goal of becoming a counselor for adolescents.

Skyla was hired in 2022 to assist the office with administrative responsibilities, such as answering client questions, taking phone calls, and assisting in whatever way is needed to help clients. Skyla enjoys interacting with those who call in to inquire about Kenosis’ services and meeting them in-person for their first counseling appointment.

Multiple people have told her that her kindness over the phone is what encouraged them to move forward with booking an appointment. She strives to be as kind as possible to individuals, knowing everyone should prioritize their mental health as much as their physical health. Skyla believes when your mental health isn't up to par, it takes a toll on all parts of your daily life. With the right help and determination, people can work through their struggles and be stronger from it.

In her free time, Skyla enjoys reading romance novels and spending time with her daughter.
