The therapists at Kenosis Center are a special group of people, dedicated to your wellness and future. The counselors are warm, caring and committed to their own ongoing personal and professional growth. They know that as they add to their own wisdom, they bring even greater value to you. You will feel welcome and "at home" in your visits to Kenosis Counseling Center. We are at the heart of our community, and are involved in many outside projects in addition to services offered at our facility.

Christine Turo-Shields, LCSW, LCAC
Psychotherapist, Kenosis Owner

Christine Turo-Shields brings hope and humor, energy and enthusiasm to her work with children, families and adults. For over 30 years, she has provided therapy in a variety of settings, including individual, marital, family and group counseling. Her expertise is rich with various clinical passion areas, including treating anxiety/panic disorders, abuse/trauma/PTSD, depression, women’s issues, addictions as well as those who are gifted/profoundly gifted.

Norma Chitwood, MA, LMHC
Psychotherapist

Norma brings such a wealth of experience to her work with clients, which in large part, is due to the wisdom of her nearly two decades in the counseling field and her travels throughout life. As a professional in many states, Norma has worked in child welfare and foster care while in PA and in the mental health system while in Illinois. Additionally, she provided case management and counseling services to female teens, adult women and families who were experiencing a crises pregnancy at a Christian agency in Chicago.

Ashley Cory, MSW, LSW

Ashley’s academic achievements include a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Kentucky University and a master’s degree in social work from Indiana University. During her time in school, she focused her career specialization in developmental transitions of the early years of childhood by teaching preschool. Ashley also spent four years in home-based family support in a child abuse prevention program, encouraging new mothers and assisting them in forming positive and lasting bonds with their new babies.

Nicole Detrick, B.A., M.S., LP
Masters Clinician

Nicole is a proud Hoosier with a deep appreciation and love for all cultures, creeds, and identities. She approaches situations with curiosity and wisdom with a desire to learn and support. She specializes in working with youth, adolescents, and young adults. She loves college and career counseling and is certified to give and interpret the Myers-Briggs personality assessment.

Alishia Elliott, MA, NCC, LMHCA
Psychotherapist

Alishia was born and raised in Central Indiana, where she is currently working toward a Doctorate of Psychology degree in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Indianapolis. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Purdue University, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University.

Melissa Hendricks, LCSW
Psychotherapist

Melissa is well known for her humor and use of metaphors, bringing a fresh and relaxed approach to her down-to-earth work with kids. Melissa received her Master’s Degree from Indiana University School of Social Work. She has broad experience in working with children, individuals, and families. She has expertise with children/adolescents that are dealing with social skills deficits, chemical dependency issues, ADHD, behavioral problems,and emotion regulation difficulties. Melissa also works with parents to positively impact the family dynamics.

Mindy has a passion for helping people live a better life. She teaches clients the tools to create solutions, discover resiliency, and find peace in their everyday lives. Mindy solely provides telehealth therapy and works with individuals (16+) who are affected by chronic mental illness (Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorder); traumatic experiences (childhood abuse, car accidents, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), assaults, bereavement, survivors of suicide loss, breast cancer survivors); and addiction issues (substance and alcohol abuse, recovery issues).

Krystal Lewis, Psych, NP
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Krystal was born and raised in Indianapolis where she attended Purdue Global University School of Nursing and earned her master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is board-certified with American Nurse Credentialing Center.

Addi Lillywhite, LMFTA
Psychotherapist

Addi received a Bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. She enthusiastically engages in work with children, adults, couples, and families, understanding how our close relationships are linked to our happiness and overall wellbeing.

Allison L. McGinley, PsyD, HSPP
Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. McGinley has worked in the field of psychology since 2000 and has evaluated hundreds of individuals throughout the Midwest. Dr. McGinley has received intensive training in the assessment and diagnosis of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities through the Riley Child Development Center including Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, and Learning Disorders. Her practical experiences have included psychological testing in schools, community mental health centers, and prison settings.

Dan welcomes his clients to share hopes, dreams, and life stressors with special consideration of meaning and purpose in life. Dan emphasizes hope and healing within a positive psychology framework while recognizing environmental, social, and cultural factors in overall health and well-being.

Rich is known for his ability to work well with people from various/diverse backgrounds, through establishing rapport, keeping a sense of humor, and making therapy relatable. He places high priority on not only recognizing challenges that clients face, but also highlighting and harnessing positive supports through a strengths perspective. He practices with the understanding that the mind, body, and spirit are connected, and to only treat one of these components, is to neglect the others. Rich received his Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University School of Science.

Sara Pollard MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC
Therapist, EMDR Trained

Sara is a life-long central Indiana resident who earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with experience in pregnancy/postpartum mental health, infant/toddler mental health, and perinatal grief and loss.

Lily Snodgrass, MSW, LCSW
Therapist, EMDR Trained, Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional

Lily was born and raised in Central Indiana where she attended the Indiana University School of Social Work and earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Prior to pursuing her Master’s degree, Lily earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
